The Director of Marketing Communications is responsible for leading the overall strategy, planning, and execution of all marketing communications activities, with a strong emphasis on public relations, brand positioning, and reputation management. This role oversees the Marketing Communications team and drives impactful branding and marketing initiatives through strategic thinking, creativity, and effective communication. The position plays a critical role in enhancing the hotel's brand equity, supporting revenue generation, and strengthening guest perception, including GuestVoice performance.
Education and Experience Required:
• Strong business-level proficiency in English (written and verbal) is essential • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, branding, or communications, preferably within the hospitality industry • Experience in an international or global hotel brand is highly preferred • Proven leadership and team management skills • Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and communication capabilities • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strong leadership to the Marketing Communications team, fostering collaboration, creativity, and high performance • Develop and execute annual marketing communications strategies aligned with the hotel's overall business objectives, including clear goals, budgets, and performance metrics • Lead all public relations and media activities to enhance brand visibility and maintain a strong market presence • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key media, partners, and stakeholders, including government and local community organizations • Oversee media planning, ensuring alignment with target market segments and business priorities • Ensure all marketing and advertising materials are consistent with brand standards and deliver a cohesive and premium brand message • Collaborate closely with Sales, Revenue, and Operations teams to support business objectives and drive revenue opportunities • Support the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) in planning and executing marketing campaigns, promotions, and communications initiatives • Identify and secure partnership opportunities, events, and brand collaborations to enhance exposure and positioning • Monitor campaign performance, media coverage, and ROI, ensuring effective budget management and timely reporting
Core Work Activities:
Managing Marketing Communications Activities
• Assists the DOSM in planning and execution of marketing communications activities, including mailing and campaign initiatives
• Ensures corporate brand guidelines (corporate ID) are consistently implemented and updated
• Prepares monthly marketing communications reports, tracking performance and key insights
• Oversees production of photography and visual assets for advertising, collateral, and PR in collaboration with agencies and corporate teams
• Maintains and updates a centralized image and asset library for marketing use
• Supervises in-house creative/design operations
• Monitors competitor activities and industry trends to inform marketing strategies
Managing Public Relations Activities
• Acts as hotel spokesperson when required and ensures timely response to media inquiries
• Develops and distributes press materials (e.g., press releases) across local and international media
• Collaborates with corporate and regional PR teams to develop media narratives and story angles
• Supports government, community relations, and VIP engagement initiatives
• Identifies and executes PR events, partnerships, and media activations
• Organizes and participates in press events, media trips, and promotional activities
• Ensures all press materials and kits are accurate and up-to-date
Managing Advertising Activities
• Collaborates with DOSM and agencies on creative development and media planning for campaigns
• Ensures alignment of advertising messaging with brand standards and group-wide campaigns
• Reviews market segmentation and ensures media planning aligns with target audiences
• Oversees execution of media schedules and monitors budget utilization
Managing Direct Marketing Activities
• Supports planning, execution, and tracking of digital and direct marketing initiatives
• Ensures consistent brand messaging across all direct marketing channels
• Maintains effective budget control for marketing activities
Managing Collateral
• Oversees production of all marketing collateral in line with brand standards and corporate guidelines
• Ensures all hotel information is accurate and up-to-date across digital platforms
• Supervises quality and consistency of on-site displays, signage, and promotional materials
• Manages production of branded items (e.g., gifts) ensuring compliance with brand standards
• Supervises in-house design and print resources
