Director Of Operations

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel, driving excellence across all departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, Engineering, and Event Management. This senior leadership role requires strategic vision and hands-on management to ensure alignment with Marriott brand standards, fostering exceptional guest experiences, achieving financial targets, and cultivating high-performing teams. The role is instrumental in integrating new operational strategies during the rebranding phase and ensuring smooth transition and consistent performance throughout.

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related major; 3 years of prior experience as Director of Operations. Preferred: 5+ years senior leadership experience in full-service property (hotels/resorts), global brand. Pre-opening and/or conversion experience an added advantage. Japan Work Experience an added advantage.

Key Tasks:

  • Leading Hotel Operational Excellence
    • Manages daily operational activities of Rooms, Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, Engineering, and Event Management to deliver exceptional quality in line with Marriott brand expectations.
    • Drives continuous operational improvement by analyzing processes and implementing strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
    • Coordinates with department heads regularly to ensure smooth operations, effective resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maximizing Guest Satisfaction
    • Champions exceptional guest service throughout the hotel, regularly reviewing feedback, satisfaction surveys, and guest interactions to identify opportunities for enhancing the overall guest experience.
    • Leads teams to deliver personalized and anticipatory service, ensuring staff respond swiftly to guest needs, complaints, and special requests.
    • Instills a culture of proactive guest engagement, creating memorable experiences aligned with brand positioning and guest expectations.
  • Financial Performance and Operational Efficiency
    • Oversees departmental budgets and financial targets, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-control strategies to ensure optimal financial performance.
    • Collaborates with Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, and Finance teams to strategically drive revenue and enhance profitability.
    • Implements and supervises inventory management, procurement strategies, and vendor relationships to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Talent Management and Team Leadership
    • Actively manages, mentors, and develops operational team members, promoting an inclusive and engaging work environment aligned with Marriott values.
    • Implements comprehensive performance management systems, conducting regular evaluations, offering constructive feedback, and facilitating targeted professional development opportunities.
    • Fosters interdepartmental collaboration, clear communication, and a positive working environment, enhancing overall team morale and productivity.
  • Compliance, Safety, and Brand Integrity
    • Ensures strict adherence to Marriott operational policies, local laws, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines throughout the property.
    • Leads comprehensive safety training and emergency preparedness initiatives, ensuring all operational teams are effectively trained and responsive.
    • Maintains rigorous quality control measures, continuously auditing operational practices to meet and exceed brand standards and maintain regulatory compliance.
